Lea Michele has debuted a new song she recorded in honor of her late boyfriend and Glee co-star Cory Monteith.
Just weeks ahead of the release of her debut album Louder, Lea Michele, 27, has shared a new track, You’re Mine, explaining that it was inspired by Cory Monteith, who died from a drug overdose last year.
Lea Michele took to Twitter on Monday after debuting the song, and wrote, “#YOUREMINE is my favorite song on #LOUDER It’s so special to me & it’s story is so close to my heart.”
In the December 2013 issue of Elle magazine, Lea Michele divulged that the personal track was a last-minute addition to her new album, explaining: “The album was done, and the label said, <<Do you want to add anything?>> I was like, <<I might regret it if I don’t>>. It makes me so happy, this song. It makes me think so much of Cory…”
Lea Michele admits the song has proved therapeutic: “When I think of him, I play this.”
