Paul Walker’s Fast & Furious character, Brian O’Conner, will be retired, not killed off, in the seventh installment of the hit franchise, according to a report.

Vin Diesel announced on Facebook last month, that production on Fast & Furious 7 would move forward and Paul Walker, who died in a fiery car crash in November in California, would appear in the film.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Brian O’Conner will be “retired in a way… [which] will satisfy fans of the franchise and make use of the existing footage of Paul Walker.

“[Movie bosses] devised a plan to tweak the existing script so that Walker would remain a part of the story but could be written out, allowing the franchise to continue without him.”

Fast & Furious 7 is set to hit theatres on April 10th, 2015.
