Paul Walker’s relatives watched his final film, Hours, at a private screening in La Canada Flintridge, California.
“His family was very stoic,” a rep for the Eric Heisserer-directed film told Us Weekly.
“But they enjoyed the film and had a really lovely evening.”
Paul Walker’s 15-year-old daughter Meadow, however, did not attend the screening.
The Hours rep tells Us Weekly Meadow Walker and the actor’s father, Paul Walker III, already viewed the film at this year’s Southwest Film Festival.
In the film – which opens in theaters Friday, December 13 – Paul Walker plays a father who struggles to keep an infant daughter alive in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. For the role, Paul Walker drew from his own experiences with Meadow, who moved in with him last year after living with her mother (his ex-girlfriend) in Hawaii.
Film director Eric Heisserer told CNN: “I’d asked him to bring baby pictures of Meadow. During some of the scenes where there was just a monologue by him to give to the baby in the incubator, we set the baby photos in the incubator so he could connect with his daughter that way.”
Paul Walker died at the age of 40 in a fiery car accident on November 30 in Santa Clarita, California.
