Shirley Mitchell – the last surviving star of I Love Lucy comedy series – has died on Monday aged 94.
The actress died from heart failure in LA.
Shirley Mitchell played Lucille Ball’s friend Marion Strong on the show.
The actress joined I Love Lucy in 1953 and appeared in three episodes.
Shirley Mitchell’s other TV credits include Petticoat Junction, The Beverly Hillbillies, Perry Mason and The Red Skelton Hour.
She also made a few big screen appearances in films like Big Business and The War of the Roses.
Shirley Mitchell was the widow of composer and lyricist Jay Livingston, who helped pen Doris Day’s Que Sera Sera.
Jay Livingston passed away in 2001.
Shirley Mitchell is survived by their two children Scott and Brooke.
