President Barack Obama helped catch a pregnant woman who was apparently about to faint while he hosted a press conference at the White House.
Karmel Allison, who has type 1 diabetes, began to swoon as she stood behind the president during his 25-minute speech in the White House Rose Garden.
“You’re OK. I’m right here. I got you,” the president told the woman.
Barack Obama was addressing glitches in his administration’s healthcare-insurance website during his speech.
“This happens when I talk too long,” Barack Obama quipped.
Karmel Allison – a member of White House staff – recovered and said later she was a pregnant diabetic, tweeting: “I’m ok world- just got a little lightheaded. Thanks, @BarackObama for catching me!”
