After she gained 60 lbs during her pregnancy with her first child, daughter Maxwell, Jessica Simpson has proudly revealed that she has only gained half that amount in her second pregnancy.
Jessica Simpson is due to give birth to a baby boy in a matter of weeks, and her frame has been noticeably slimmer in comparison to last year, when she prepared to give birth to Maxwell, now 11 months.
In a new interview with People magazine, Jessica Simpson, 32, says she has been working out regularly in the lead up to the arrival of her baby boy.
“Now I’m working out three times a week,” she told the magazine.
“I’ve only gained half of what I did in my first pregnancy!”
Jessica Simpson admits that she “let herself go” when she was pregnant with Maxwell, not paying enough attention to her diet and fitness regime.
“With my first pregnancy I really let go. I felt like I deserved to eat whatever I wanted,” she said in her interview.
Jessica Simpson also says that this time around she has also been more relaxed about her maternity wardrobe, easing off wearing her signature high heels.
“This time around I’ve been less about the fashion and more about the comfort,” she explains.
“With Maxwell I tried to wear heels the whole time but it hurt my knees. Now I’m wearing more flats.”
