The world’s largest book has been put on public display in the United Arab Emirates (UAE)’s Dubai at IBN Battuta Mall.
The book, named “This is Muhammad”, entered the Guinness World Records as the world’s largest book on February 27. It took professional workers 16 months to finish the 5-meter-long, 4.03-meter-wide and 1.5-ton book, which is estimated to be worth 2.99 million U.S. dollars.
Depicting the life of Islam’s prophet Muhammad, the biography is the product of Saudi Arabian scholars’ three years of research.
The book will be on show in other places including Kuwait, Qatar, and Egypt, as well as countries in Europe and America. Book lovers from around the world will get a chance to enjoy the book up-close and sign their names on the pages.
After the world tour, the book will be on permanent display in UAE’s capital Abu Dhabi.
With the world’s largest book as blue print, more than 500,000 Arabic publications have already been released.
According to Hossam M.A. Hamid, adviser to the President of International Relationships and Marketing group, the book will be published in other languages including English, French and Chinese in the future.
Hossam M.A. Hamid said: “It’s big and we transfer it by a crane. Because it’s heavy, about one and a half ton. We put it in a big area like this, free area. We cannot put it in the hall, because it is very big as you see.”
