As Amanda Knox pledged to return to a normal life after being cleared of the murder of British student Meredith Kercher, she has embarked on a romance with an old friend, classical guitar student James Terrano.
James Terrano’s brother William, 27, confirmed: “Yes, she’s dating my brother. They have known each other for years. We’ve all been friends since before Amanda went to Italy.”
On Friday, Amanda Knox and James Terrano emerged separately from the shabby apartment they share in Seattle’s rundown Chinatown area with Amanda saying: “I can’t tell you anything.”
While James Terrano said “I’m sorry” when asked if he was “serious” about Amanda Knox.
Amanda Knox’s new boyfriend is from a middle-class New York family.
James Terrano is studying classical music, specializing in guitar, at Seattle’s University of Washington. She had been reading languages there and is believed to be about to resume her studies.
Amanda Knox, 24, who was pictured kissing boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito within hours of the discovery of Meredith Kercher’s body in the home the two women shared in Perugia, Italy, appeared blissfully happy with James Terrano, 24.
On Tuesday Amanda Knox and James Terrano shared Haagen Dazs ice cream and strolled arm- in-arm around Chinatown, buying groceries at an Asian market.
They spent every night last week together inside James Terrano’s modest rented flat in a nondescript brick building with a gaudy red flashing “Hong Kong” neon sign outside.
A witness said: “She likes the area as she can walk about unrecognized and blend into the crowd.”
Amanda Knox and Raffaele Sollecito, 27, were initially sentenced to 26 and 25 years imprisonment respectively before their convictions were overturned.
Meanwhile, Raffaele Sollecito has spoken about his feelings for Amanda Knox.
“It’s all over between us. I still have a great affection towards her but nothing else. I wish her all the happiness in the world,” he said.
