Duck Commander, the company behind Duck Dynasty reality show, is reportedly set to purchase the rights to the Independence Bowl, or AdvoCare V100 Bowl as it has been known in recent years.
The deal will reportedly run through 2019, and this news comes shortly after it was announced that Duck Commander would sponsor NASCAR’s spring Sprint Cup 500 race, now known as the “Duck Commander 500”.
The Independence Bowl is a post-season NCAA-sanctioned Division I college football bowl game that is played annually at Independence Stadium in Shreveport, Louisiana.
It was known as the Independence Bowl prior to 2013, and was so named because it was inaugurated in the US bicentennial year, 1976.
