America has welcomed its biggest newborn for 2013, Joel Brandon Jr., who weighed in at 14 lbs the day he was delivered via C-section in Utah.

Joel Brandon Jr., or “JJ”, is part of 2013’s global trend of big, chubby babies, an elite clique that includes George King in England (born at 15 lbs 7 oz.), baby Jasleen from Germany (13.74 lbs) and Addyson Cessna of Pennsylvania (13 lbs, 12 oz.).

According to Joel Brandon’s proud mom, Sara: “He is so sweet, just the happiest guy, he laughs all of the time and he is just very calm …We feel very, very lucky to have him.”
